Infection Control Measures at PSC

We are committed to doing our part to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus by implementing infection control measures in our workplaces and promoting personal hygiene measures as an essential component of pandemic management.

  • Hand washing and use of hand sanitizers shall be encouraged by supervision. Hand washing facilities, hand sanitizers, tissues, hand soap, and disposable towels shall be provided where possible and based on the availability of these supplies.
  • Where possible, social distancing will be encouraged, including increasing the space between employee work areas and decreasing the possibility of contact by limiting large or close contact gatherings.
  • We have cancelled meetings involving 20 or more participants and are utilizing teleconferencing and online meetings to limit personal contact.
  • We have suspended international and non-essential business travel and are implementing work-at-home policies where permissible for specific employee groups.
  • PSC will cover all necessary COVID-19 testing costs for employees and dependents enrolled in a PSC medical insurance plan.

Additional measures YOU can take to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • If you develop symptoms such as fever, cough, and/or difficulty breathing, or if you have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19, utilize the Nurse Hotline or Horizon CareOnline Telemedicine services or call your primary care physician for guidance. If you don’t have a primary care physician, please call Horizon’s Member Services at (800) 355-2583. Notify your direct supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Enhance existing housekeeping activities by wiping down and disinfecting work areas (i.e., keyboards, telephones, desks, etc.) frequently.
  • Use personal protective equipment where appropriate to minimize exposure.
  • Visit the Centers for Disease Control website for additional educational information, tips, and other resource information.
